Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT) now accepts more options for contactless payment.

Customers can pay fare by tapping a PRESTO card or credit card, including credit cards linked to smartphones and smartwatches.

When: Beginning January 23, 2023.

Where: Customers boarding DRT vehicles equipped with PRESTO machines.

Why: With credit card payment now available, customers have another option to pay when boarding. This eliminates the need for exact cash fare.

January 2, 2023 service updates

Whitby, Ontario – On Monday, January 2, 2023, Durham Region Transit (DRT) will be implementing service adjustments to improve service reliability, availability and address feedback from customers and staff.

Due to high demand, scheduled service will be expanded in certain locations. On Demand capacity will be reallocated to areas of high growth.

When: Service updates will begin on Monday, January 2, 2023.
