Whitby, Ontario – Durham Region Transit (DRT) welcomes secondary and post-secondary students back to transit for the 2021/2022 academic year with service updates. Customers travelling to local schools and campuses are encouraged to review our new bus route map and plan trips using Transit App, DRT’s official trip planner.
When: Service enhancements come into effect September 7, 2021.

Highlights include:
- On major roadways—such as Highway 2, Taunton Road, Rossland Road and Simcoe Street—frequent bus service during class time is available every 15 minutes or better.
- If travelling to the Durham College and Ontario Tech University North Campus in Oshawa, students can take new Route 310 from Brooklin, new Route 905 (between Uxbridge and Whitby Station), and Route 920 from the Toronto Transit Commission’s McCowan Station.
- New scheduled services in Pickering North (112 Valley Farm), Ajax Southwest (224A), Whitby (392), Oshawa (405 Adelaine-Wilson) and South Courtice (411 South Courtice)
- In areas of low demand, DRT provides On Demand service to connect to a frequent transit route, GO station, or another stop within the On Demand zone.
Why: To provide greater mobility across Durham Region. Be on time for school by planning ahead, and learning the optimal routes from door to door.
