DRT News and Services Updates

  • 20 years of DRT: Share your views

As we celebrate 20 years of service in Durham Region, we want to know about your experience with Durham Region Transit (DRT).

More than buses, routes and schedules — we want to know how easy the system is to recognize, understand, and navigate through signage, maps; and what you see, hear, and experience?

  • Construction scheduled to begin on Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit in Pickering
Construction on the Durham-Scarborough Bus Rapid Transit (DSBRT) project is set to begin in late summer 2026 along Kingston Road in Pickering, bringing dedicated bus lanes, improved cycling and pedestrian infrastructure, and upgraded road and utility services. Once complete in 2028, the project will provide faster, more frequent transit service across Durham Region and into Toronto, while maintaining access to local businesses, bus routes, and sidewalks during construction.
  • Back-to-school with back-to-back savings with Durham Region Transit’s (DRT) Y10 monthly youth pass
DRT's discounted Y10 monthly youth pass helps riders aged 13 to 19 save more than $200 during the school year while enjoying unlimited transit travel. Enrolment is now open, with the September pass available for purchase starting August 21 and customers required to enroll and purchase their first pass by September 10, 2026.
