Back to SearchWhitby, Ontario – On Tuesday, January 2, 2024, Durham Region Transit (DRT) will implement the following service adjustments, to ensure service is provided where it’s needed most based-on pressures on the transit network resulting from record level ridership.
When: Changes to DRT service will take place on Tuesday, January 2, 2024.
Where: The transit network is being adjusted across Durham Region. Service on lower-performing routes is being reallocated to support our busiest corridors. Some route numbers have changed or may require access to transit from a different bus stop, please check your local routes for additional details. Some of the changes include:
- New services will operate to On Demand areas experiencing high demand, including North Whitby, and local Uxbridge destinations.
- Routes 409, NEW 419, NEW 605, PULSE 901, 920, NEW 921, and others, will improve reliability, and increase available capacity across the network.

Why: DRT is introducing service updates to improve connections on select routes and adjust for service demands.
