WHITBY, ON – Durham Region Transit (DRT) continues to improve and enhance service throughout Durham Region and is pleased to announce that effective September 2, 2019, On Demand service will be expanded to Brock Township.
On Demand is a flexible and convenient option to help residents access scheduled service when possible, or take customers where they need to go directly when scheduled service is not an option.
“Ensuring transit is a reliable option for our residents in the north municipalities is an ongoing priority,” says Regional Chair John Henry. “The expansion of On Demand service into Brock Township offers unparalleled transit connectivity between Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock, ensuring public transit is accessible for everyone.”
“Expanding On Demand service into Brock Township is an important step in ensuring the public transit network in Durham Region is a viable option for residents, regardless of where they live,” adds Shaun Collier, Mayor of Ajax and Transit Executive Committee Chair.
“We are excited about expanding our On Demand service, ensuring residents in the northern municipalities have access to a convenient, affordable mobility option,” says Bill Holmes, Acting General Manager. “This service expansion makes access to public transit service throughout Uxbridge, Scugog and Brock townships easier than ever.”
